A LADY'S GIFT Faith
Trumbull, wife of Governor Trumbull, gives her red cloak for the troops under Washington. It was the custom of the time to take collections during church services. On this
occasion, she presented her cloak, a gift from General Rochambeau. It was later cut into small strips for rank markings with the army.
